Hi, I’m Jonas
a natural fitness coach,
amputee, husband, father of three. Also a lover of saunas, cold water, cycling and more recently, camping.
I came to fitness after my deformed leg was amputated when I was 20. After physiotherapy to learn to walk and recover from such a serious operation I was on my own with a prognosis that I would probably be in wheelchair by the age of 50.
After several years of drinking to numb the unexplored pain I held as a result of my lifelong disability I turned to training.
Strengthening my body and creating a more resilient mindset were going to change my prognosis.
I had felt trapped and I hoped that training was going to be my path to freedom. Training myself soon became training others, then training to compete, then training as a sprinter as part of team GB in 2012. I then set up my own business and started competing as a fitness model, until I made the life changing decision to focus on a natural approach to fitness. To nourish my body, rather than use and exhaust it. In 2018 I moved from the UK to Mallorca and my approach to coaching has developed as I have continued to learn from specialists.
With over 16 years of professional experience, I have worked with amazing coaches, clients and athletes and seen the freedom and fulfillment that comes from the ability to move well.
From Dan Pfaff the world leading althletic coach who trained me in 2011 and 2012 as part of team GB, to Louis, a professional cyclist and Paralympic gold medalist, who I coached in strength and conditioning.
Or Josh, who I helped with rehabilitation after he lost his leg in a hit and run accident, and then continued to train as he got stronger and stronger.
Or Simon, who needed a serious lifestyle overhaul in his early 50’s, after two heart attacks, to Anne Marie who was able to begin horseriding again after 20 years of chronic back pain had prevented her from doing the sport she loved.
Not to mention iron man competitors, London marathon runners, and many other clients who have become healthier, happier, stronger and freer through exercise.
I have learnt so much from all these clients, as well as from my own journey and coaches. What I have discovered is that stronger, healthier bodies transform lives. Wherever you start on your journey, once you start the only way is up.
Regular movement improves every aspect of health and what matters most in life is, of course, health.
