Natural Fitness Coach
What is natural fitness training and coaching?
Natural fitness training doesn’t push us into unnatural, (potentially harmful) actions, routines or behaviours. It is a balanced approach that challenges the body, strengthening it, whilst nurturing the bodys systems and needs, boosting health and energy levels.
It’s a personalised, holistic and effective strategy, producing long term results. With a very minimal risk of injury, unlike many other training styles, you gain the skills and confidence increase movement into your daily routine.
Natural fitness coaching challenges, encourages and guides you to develop your physical and mental fitness and strength, so that you can live your life freely, for many years.
We train barefoot, no machines, using body weight exercises, and free weights, striking a balance between flexibility and mobility exercises, strength training, HIIT and breathwork.
I also coach you to build a strong and self compassionate mindset to match.
Why do I need natural fitness training?
The human body is designed to move frequently, but it is not a machine to be used or exhausted, without care. Healthy, strong humans can exercise at a low intensity for long periods of time, lift weights, bend, balance and perform physically at a high level of intensity for short periods of time.
Modern life means we no longer live in environments or have lifestyles that stimulate us to move regularly, in a range of ways, throughout the day, but our need for movement remains essential, for every system in our body.
Research continues to discover new ways in which exercise affects not only our muscles, cardiovascular system, ability to avoid and fight disease, or longevity, but also our brain health, hormonal health, nervous system and mood. Being able to move freely means being able to live freely.
If you really want to look after your body you must give it enough challenge and enough ease, which is just what natural fitness training does.
I encourage my clients to bring the mindset of natural fitness into their daily lives. This includes improving sleep quality, eating natural, unprocessed foods, increasing connection with nature, using heat and cold, walking more and developing strong social connections.
To read more about how these elements all positively impact your health you might find the Blue Zones project interesting, which you can read about online or watch the series ‘Live To 100' on Netflix.
“Jonas is unlike any coach I’ve worked with before. He listens to me, understands where I am and then guides and challenges me to be better.
I trust him and I’m getting great results.”
